Dr.Ismat MOHD SULAIMAN
Dr. ‘Ismat Mohd Sulaiman began her career in medicine, serving five years in clinical practice before venturing into the dynamic world of health informatics. She earned her master’s in Health Informatics in 2016 and recently completed her PhD, where she delved into clinical text mining and machine learning. At the Ministry of Health, she contributed to the national health information strategy for strategic planning by leading initiatives on semantic standards like ICD and SNOMED CT, launching the Malaysian Health Data Warehouse (MyHDW), and managing the MyHarmony project which applies natural language processing techniques to make sense of unstructured clinical text. Internationally, she represents Malaysia in SNOMED International. In her spare time, she is spends time to nurture future talent, actively teaching students from undergraduate to doctoral level in local universities. Dr. ‘Ismat is passionate about making health data more meaningful and impactful to drive better decisions across the health system.
