Dr. ‘Ismat MOHD SULAIMAN has 5 years of clinical experience before joining the Health Informatics Centre (Pusat Informatik Kesihatan – PIK) in the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She received her master’s degree in health informatics and completing her doctorate studies on clinical text mining. While working, she led the development and implementation of semantic Health Informatics Standards such as ICD and SNOMED CT, involved in the planning and initiation of the Malaysian Health Data Warehouse (MyHDW) project, and led the Natural Language Processing (NLP) project called MyHarmony. Internationally, she was the Malaysian representative to SNOMED International and WHO for ICD. As a part time basis, she contributes to medical education as an adjunct lecturer to three local universities.
